Read a Message From Our CO-HEADS OF SCHOOLS
We are very excited to be the co-heads of school for the Saint Gabriel School family. We embrace the hallmarks and legacy of SGS and honor the SGS family, staff, and alumni who are dedicated to our mission of making sure Saint Gabriel School is a Catholic community devoted to academic excellence and Christ’s call to discipleship.
We would like to share a little background about your Leadership Team:
Mr. Conlin will serve as head-of-school for the upper school, 5-8. Mr. Conlin has been a member of the Saint Gabriel/Saint Damien of Molokai parish for his entire life, having been baptized, confirmed and married there. He joined the faculty of Saint Gabriel School in the fall of 2004 as a Middle School teacher. Over the last 19 years, he has taught social studies, history, geography, religion, and language arts. He has also, at various times, run Student Government and Yearbook Club. Mr. Conlin loves history and teaching (as well as Notre Dame Football and Lord of the Rings). He is certified by the State of Connecticut to teach history and social studies and holds a B.A. (Magna cum Laude) and M.A. in history from Central Connecticut State University. In addition, he wrote an academic paper, “Teaching the Past’s Perspective of the Past: Civil War Reenactors in Connecticut,” published in Inside Connecticut and the Civil War, Essays on One State’s Struggles, which was edited by Matthew Warshauer and published in 2014.
Mrs. Schuler will serve as head-of-school for the lower school, preschool through grade 4. Mrs. Schuler joined the Saint Gabriel School family in the fall of 2017 as the fourth-grade teacher. After graduation from St. Thomas Aquinas High School and CCSU, she began her teaching career in New Britain’s Holy Cross School, as an alumna, and has since taught at several other schools in the Archdiocese of Hartford. At CCSU, Mrs. Schuler earned a BS-ED in English and an MS-Ed in Reading and has held professional certification since 1989. Her own four children are kindergarten-through-grade twelve Catholic school graduates, as well.
We look forward to welcoming all returning and new families to Saint Gabriel School for the 2024-2025 school year. This school year, we are privileged to afford each student differentiated instructional models underscoring the basics of the nationally acclaimed Archdiocesan Curriculum, as well as STEM and project-based learning frameworks. This ensures that, together, our team of teachers and administrators will form students in mind, body, spirit, and imagination, which will pave the way to success for each student.

"Both of our kids are succeeding here and enjoying it every day. We just learned that SGS students tested at +1.5 grade levels higher than the national average. We are fortunate to have this school in Windsor."
