Support Services at Saint Gabriel School
At Saint Gabriel School, we are committed to supporting the academic, social, and emotional well-being of all students. Through individualized support plans and social-emotional learning opportunities, we strive to ensure that every child can succeed and thrive in our school community.
Individualized Education Plan (IEP)
Students identified with learning differences may receive academic support through an Individualized Education Plan (IEP). These plans are developed through a Planning and Placement Team (PPT) meeting in collaboration with Windsor Public Schools. The IEP outlines accommodations and specialized services to support students in meeting their educational goals.
The Process:
🔹 Teachers use benchmark assessments and classroom performance to monitor student growth.
🔹 If a student is not meeting benchmark targets, they receive differentiated instruction to support their learning.
🔹 If additional support is needed, teachers work with parents and Windsor Public Schools to refer the student for further evaluation.
🔹 If a student is found eligible, an IEP is created, outlining specific accommodations, goals, and support services to help them succeed.
Through this process, Saint Gabriel School ensures that every child receives the support they need to reach their fullest potential in an inclusive and faith-based environment.
Social Work Services with Mrs. Stewart
At Saint Gabriel School, we recognize the importance of social-emotional well-being in student success. Our school social worker, Mrs. Stewart, provides individual and group counseling sessions to support students' emotional and social development.
🔹 Individual & Group Support: Mrs. Stewart meets with students to work on self-regulation, coping strategies, social skills, and emotional well-being.
🔹 Small Groups: Students can participate in social skills groups designed to build confidence, communication, and peer relationships.
🔹 Classroom Lessons: Monthly in-class lessons focus on social-emotional concepts, including strategies from The Zones of Regulation to help students identify and manage emotions.
By providing academic, emotional, and social support, Saint Gabriel School nurtures the whole child, ensuring that students feel safe, supported, and ready to learn.
